Roy Naccour of J. Joseph Salon - Hair Styling

Roy Naccour moved from Lebanon to Sweden when he was very young. In Sweden, students are given a choice to attend either a college preparatory school, or a trade school. He chose a trade school, and was given the opportunity to train under master stylists from France and Italy. The training was intense, and as the youngest student, Roy had to work extra hard to catch up to the older, more experienced stylists. He was unaware at the time that this experience would serve as preparation for future endeavors.

Roy came to J. Joseph Salon as a stylist when he was twenty-four. Nine months later he asked the owner if she was interested in selling it. That question could have been the end of his job; most owners would have felt threatened. But he believed she recognized his strong and sincere passion for the industry and knew that he would do great things. The next step was informing his coworkers that he was now their employer when he was, yet again, the youngest stylist in the salon. They were speechless.

Roy’s vision was to create a certain feeling and experience that I believed other salons didn’t get quite right. He wants his guests to enjoy every moment of their luxurious experience, starting with a glass of white wine or a cup of tea when they walk through the door. His team don’t just wash hair, they massage. They don’t just style hair, they work with guests to find the look that emphasizes their most beautiful features. Then they teach them how to create the same style at home.

The J. Joseph Salon is gaining a reputation for creating hip, trend-setting looks. This is attributed to having the finest hairstylists in the area, and to J. Joseph Salon’s commitment to continued education. All stylists attend classes and hair shows regularly, and Roy and some of the team travel to Europe every year to see the hottest new looks. Roy and J. Joseph want to bring back the latest styles and techniques from Paris and Milan to all of their guests in Tampa.

The salon also just recently expanded to include a luxurious spa section, and Roy has now been donating his talents and styling hair for charity events, bridal shows, fashion shows, fashion shoots and local celebrities.
